Drop-In & Dog Walk FAQ
-
Yes, absolutely. Drop-ins and house sitting can be for either. With cats, that usually means food, water, litter, and some company (whether they want cuddles or just a little quiet presence). With dogs, it’s often a potty break, a walk, or some playtime.
-
Yes, definitely. We can add time in 10-minute increments ($5 each) if your pet needs a little more company or a longer walk.
-
Drop-ins are more flexible - they can be for cats or dogs and include feeding, cleanup, play, or just some company.
Dog walks are focused on getting your pup outside for fresh air and exercise. Both are booked in 30- or 60-minute blocks, depending on how much time you’d like us to spend.
-
That’s okay. Many cats (and some dogs) are shy. I’ll respect their comfort level, avoid forcing interaction, and make sure their essentials (food, water, litter/potty) are cared for. Over time, many pets warm up naturally.
-
If it’s too hot, stormy, or icy, I’ll adjust for safety. That could mean a shorter walk with some indoor play or enrichment so they still get the attention they need without risking their health. Please see our weather policy and guide for more information.
-
Yes. Doors, gates, and locks are always double-checked before leaving. If something looks unusual (like an open window or malfunctioning lock), I’ll notify you right away.
-
Yes, we can. As long as they’re clearly labeled and your pet is comfortable, we’ll follow your directions carefully. If something feels off or your pet struggles, we’ll pause and reach out to you.

House Sitting FAQ
-
For an Overnight Sit, we stay in your home from about 10 PM–7 AM and also come back once midday.
A Drop-In House Sit means three visits spread across the day - morning, afternoon, and evening.
Both give structure and routine, but overnight adds the extra comfort of someone there while your pets sleep.
-
Not quite. With an Overnight Sit, pets are usually alone for part of the day (often 6–8 hrs at a time). If your pets are used to shorter stretches, we can add drop-ins to shorten that gap.
-
Yes, definitely. Extra drop-ins ($30 each) are an easy way to make sure your pets are seen more often. Many families use this option for pets who shouldn’t be left alone more than 5–6 hrs at a time.
-
Yes, but only on a limited basis. Constant Care means round-the-clock company, and it’s best for pets with medical needs or high anxiety. Because it’s so time-intensive, we keep it limited, but it’s always something we can talk about if you think your pet would benefit.
-
Along with pet care, we’ll also help with small things that keep your home comfortable, like bringing in mail, watering plants, or adjusting lights.
-
We’ll reach out to you right away, and if we can’t get hold of you, we’ll follow whatever backup plan you’ve left (like an emergency contact or preferred contractor). Having that info ahead of time makes everything smoother and less stressful for you.
-
If your pet ever needs urgent help, we’ll contact you first, then your emergency contact if we can’t reach you. If no one is available, we’ll take them to the vet and act on your behalf up to the limit we set together. You’ll always get a full update.
See Unexpected Pet Events Policy.
-
Yes - everyday things like accidents or small messes are part of the job. If something big or unusual happens, we’ll let you know so we can decide the best way to handle it.
